Job summary

Lakers is seeking an experienced P6 Planner to join our Chester-based team. You will develop, maintain and control detailed project schedules to support engineering and maintenance activities on high-profile sites.

Applicants must have strong Primavera P6 experience and SAP integration capabilities, plus DBS clearance and the right to work in the UK. This role is onsite with potential for long-term work and career development in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Integrate planning activities with SAP work management systems.
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities.
• Produce weekly and monthly planning reports, progress updates, and performance metrics.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and site teams to ensure accurate schedule information.
• Support shutdowns, maintenance activities, and project delivery planning.
• Conduct critical path analysis and resource loading exercises.
• Track schedule performance against baselines and recommend corrective actions where required.
• Ensure planning data is maintained accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
• Participate in planning meetings and provide scheduling expertise to stakeholders.
• Proven experience as a Planner/Scheduler in industrial, engineering, construction, utilities, or maintenance environments.
• Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Experience using SAP for work management, maintenance planning, or project controls.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling principles, critical path methodology, and project controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working alone and making informed decisions with minimal supervision.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Previous experience working on regulated or secure sites.
• Experience supporting major projects, shutdowns, or maintenance programmes.
• Knowledge of risk management and earned value principles.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced P6 Planner to join our team based in Chester. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling detailed project schedules to support the successful delivery of engineering and maintenance activities.

This role requires strong experience using Primavera P6 and SAP, along with excellent planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Please note: Candidates within commutable distance to site preferred. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a DBS check prior to your start.
