Part-time Personal Assistant - £17ph plus holiday pay – London

Start ASAP for three months initially

Working pattern:

  • Mondays: 1pm – 5pm
  • Fridays: 10am – 12pm

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrative Support Assistant to provide general administrative support to a Data Scientist. The role involves a variety of tasks including minute taking, proofreading documents, calendar management, and ad hoc project coordination. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Data Scientist's daily activities and ensuring efficient project execution.

  • Attend scheduled Zoom meetings to take comprehensive notes, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions.
  • Proofread emails and documents prepared by the Data Scientist, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Assist in short-term and long-term planning, updating calendars, and informing colleagues on project timelines and estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Data Scientist to plan around health-related issues, such as managing projects around treatment, side effects, and time off.
  • Coordinate and prepare for 1-1 meetings with the Data Scientist's line manager, appraisals, and other internal and external meetings.
  • Prompt the Data Scientist to complete tasks using various apps designed to assist with task management.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience in administrative support roles, preferably in a research or scientific environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to take accurate meeting notes and proofread documents effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and project coordination, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Sensitivity and understanding when planning around health-related issues, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proficiency in using Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms, as well as basic knowledge of office software and apps for task management.
