Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking an experienced Bid Proposal Lead - Power & Renewables (HV) to coordinate high-value tender submissions for HV, renewables and grid projects. You’ll work with Engineering, Estimating, Commercial and Operations teams to deliver compliant, competitive bids.

The role demands a proven bid-management background in Power Renewables, strong writing and presentation skills, stakeholder management, and APMP certification (or progress toward).

Qualifications

• Bid management experience within Power, Utilities, Renewables or HV infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of HV substations, grid connections, transmission/distribution or renewable energy projects.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent proposal writing, coordination and organisational abilities.
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in bid management roles within Power & Renewables.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end bid process for HV, transmission & distribution, substation and renewable energy projects.
• Manage PQQs, EOIs and framework submissions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is submitted.
• Coordinate and assemble technical proposal documents, methodologies, programmes and supporting information for client submissions.
• Liaise with Engineering, Estimating, Commercial and Delivery teams to develop robust and competitive bid solutions.
• Prepare and coordinate client presentations, interviews and clarification responses.
• Ensure all submissions meet client requirements, governance standards and company procedures.
• Maintain and develop bid management processes, templates and content libraries to improve efficiency and win rates.
• Provide guidance and support on bid, technical and proposal-related matters across the business.

Role Purpose

As Bid Proposal Lead - Power & Renewables (HV), you will lead the preparation and coordination of bids for High Voltage (HV), Renewable Energy, Grid Infrastructure and Substation projects. Working closely with Engineering, Estimating, Commercial and Operations teams, you will deliver high-quality, compliant and competitive tender submissions that support business growth and showcase our technical and delivery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Bid Management: Lead the end-to-end bid process for HV, transmission & distribution, substation and renewable energy projects.
• PQQ & Pre-Qualification: Manage PQQs, EOIs and framework submissions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is submitted.
• Tender Development: Coordinate and assemble technical proposal documents, methodologies, programmes and supporting information for client submissions.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with Engineering, Estimating, Commercial and Delivery teams to develop robust and competitive bid solutions.

Experience

• Bid management or proposal development experience within Power, Utilities, Renewables or HV infrastructure projects.

• Understanding of HV substations, grid connections, transmission & distribution or renewable energy projects.

• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent proposal writing, coordination and organisational abilities.

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in bid management, proposal management or pre-construction roles within the Power & Renewables sector.

• APMP Practitioner certification (or working towards) preferred.

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business or a related field, or comparable industry experience.

• Proven track record of leading successful bids for HV substations, transmission & distribution, grid connection, BESS, solar or wind energy projects.
