Job Description:

P&O Cruises is Britain’s biggest cruise line. We are part of Carnival Corporation PLC and we have been for 20 years. With amazing career opportunities across the fleet, we’ll help you settle into an exciting life at sea as part of our P&O Cruises family.

Every day we have guests returning to book another cruise whilst onboard with us. As Senior Loyalty and Future Cruise Sales Manager, you will help the P&O Cruises onboard sales team to deliver their future cruise targets and reward loyalty with our guests.

We believe that building robust relationships with guests, developing strategic sales and marketing plans, and supporting the growth and development of the team are the most effective ways to maximise opportunities and meet revenue targets.

We are looking for people who have a real passion for guest experience, a drive for sales, and who love to go the extra mile. Join us and you’ll discover that working at sea is more than just a job. It’s a way of life. You will visit different places, explore new worlds, and gain experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.

As Senior Loyalty and Future Cruise Sales Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Effectively manage the Loyalty and Cruise Sales team to maximise revenue opportunities and deliver a high level of service through exceeding guest expectations in the delivery of the brand loyalty scheme, ‘The Peninsular Club’.
  2. Develop and implement the ship/cruise strategy and marketing plans, proactively seeking new ideas to meet and exceed revenue targets and improve guest experience. This includes any adjustments needed to these plans in line with passenger profiles and behaviours to ensure targets are met.
  3. Oversee the delivery of the loyalty club programme and loyalty escalations. Manage the distribution of all loyalty club material and paperwork.
  4. Plan and host events and deliver presentations to increase profit generating opportunities to exceed sales targets. This includes public speaking at loyalty events and in presentations.
  5. Lead and manage the Loyalty and Cruise Sales team on the current ship, developing the team and driving engagement. Deliver induction and training for new team members and on an ongoing basis to ensure they are up-skilled.
  6. Act as a role model, anticipating and planning effectively for change and ensuring the whole ship, including senior stakeholders, understands and demonstrates the value of the loyalty scheme and our function.

Experience managing a small team would be a great advantage for this role as would previous experience working in a target-driven environment. In addition, experience of working in a customer service environment and with senior stakeholders would be advantageous. Experience of working in the travel industry would be desirable. However, these are not essential. We believe in hiring people with the right attitudes and strengths over their competencies.

Providing exceptional service to our guests is a large part of the role. Therefore, you will have a drive to seek excellence in your work as well as a natural ability to prioritise and organise.

Your ability to adapt easily when things don’t go to plan will make any last-minute changes to bookings and events a lot easier. It is important that you are able to manage the delivery of the benefits of the Loyalty scheme on every cruise, acting quickly and calmly when a guest’s requirements or demands change, or escalate in a timely manner.

Your ability to work towards onboard resolution for loyalty-related complaints and identify opportunities to go the extra mile for passengers will help you to stand out from the crowd.

The fact that you love to learn new things will help you keep up to date with our ships' itineraries, ports, and special events, making sales of future cruises effortless for you. Your drive to exceed targets and motivate the team around you is what will help both you and the team succeed in the revenue delivery needed in this role.

Life onboard is different and rewarding. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your career with a company that puts its people and guests at the centre of everything we do. The Assignment lengths are either 4 or 6 months onboard, and life onboard involves working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your 10 hours will be split between morning, afternoon, and evening activities. In return, you will receive a competitive rate of pay, single cabin, and the enviable opportunity to travel the world and to contribute to the ongoing success of Carnival UK.

With our fleet ever-changing, we are planning for the future. This means that the role you are applying for is in our Talent Pool. During the recruitment and onboarding process, we may not be able to offer an exact start date, but as soon as we do, we will let you know and make sure you have plenty of notice and support to get ready for your adventure with us.

We are working hard to build a flexible and inclusive culture. As part of our culture, difference is valued and our people can be themselves. We welcome applications from everyone because inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marriage & civil partnership, and pregnancy & maternity.

At P&O Cruises, we collaborate with a variety of reputable agencies who will never ask you to pay a hiring fee or any other associated monies in order to submit an application to us. All applications are reviewed against the same criteria and using an agency will not increase your chances of being successful.
