Job summary

The Emerald Group in London is seeking an actuary to support a robust financial risk management framework and help shape risk processes.

You will work with the Chief Risk Officer on challenging reinsurance, reserving, product design and pricing, exposure management and solvency. A qualified P&C actuary with 3+ years PQ and strong UK regulatory knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial risk management.
• Ability to review risk profile and metrics.
• Experience with stress testing and risk reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Risk Officer in providing challenge, oversight and risk opinions on reinsurance, reserving, product design and pricing, exposure management, business plan, solvency, and capital utilisation
• Oversee the stress and scenario testing and driving improvements in these practices
• Reviewing and challenging the company’s financial risk profile and helping develop existing Risk Appetite statements and metrics
• Taking part in risk assessments, including looking at emerging risks and climate change
• You’ll need to be a qualified P&C actuary
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience
• Strong financial skills and business awareness with a solid understanding of the UK market and regulatory environment
• Great attention to detail with an analytical and problem-solving mindset
