Job summary

Emerald Group is seeking an experienced actuary to analyse demographic and economic experience, support assumption setting, and calibrate capital stresses for the internal model. The role also involves mentoring actuarial students and working with audit teams to ensure accuracy of processes.

Candidates should be qualified actuaries or near-qualification, with life, GI or pensions experience, and strong Solvency II knowledge alongside excellent communication and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary (Will consider candidates with 1 exam remaining)
• Experience from Life, GI or Pensions backgrounds preferred
• Knowledge of Solvency II and UK regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong IT skills and highly numerate

Responsibilities

• Analyse and report on demographic and economic experience to support assumption setting
• Calibrate capital stresses for the internal model and report on experience
• Provide guidance and coaching to actuarial students and newly qualified actuaries
• Collaborate with auditors and validation teams to ensure integrity of actuarial processes

Job description

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Responsible for analysing and reporting on demographic and economic experience and use the analysis and actuarial judgement to support the setting of assumptions, calibrate the capital stresses for the internal model and report on the experience
• There are also opportunities to work on change and capital initiatives and projects
• Provide guidance and coaching to actuarial students and newly qualified actuaries
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors and validation teams to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all actuarial processes

Qualifications required:
