Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking an experienced HV Substation Protection & Control Design Engineer to join our growing team in Glasgow. You will design protection and control systems for transformers, transmission lines, busbars and switchgear, and support SCADA integration and IEC 61850 solutions.

Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will develop protection philosophies, relay settings, interlocking schemes, and deliver technical documentation, drawings and reports to ensure safe,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in HV Substation Protection & Control design.
• Strong understanding of power system protection, control, and substation automation.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards and IEC 61850 protocols.
• Experience with power system and design software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT, EPLAN, Helinks, or similar.
• Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HV substation protection and control systems for transformers, transmission lines, busbars, and switchgear.
