Job Role: Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess a compassionate attitude.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers will help with the daily care of patients in various settings such as homes, hospitals, or patients' own residences.

As a vital member of healthcare teams, Support Workers / Healthcare Assistants work under supervision of nursing staff and assist with tasks such as:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Assisting with mobility and transfers
• Helping with toileting and collecting bedpans
• Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the ward or patient's home
• Managing supplies and equipment

Work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you might participate in training new staff.
