Job summary

Oxbridge Summer Scholars (OSS) invites specialist tutors to join its December programme, delivering university-level teaching to motivated international students at Oxford and Cambridge. You will lead seminars and tutorials in your subject area and supervise individual research projects, guiding students to develop and defend original arguments.

Candidates should hold an undergraduate degree in their subject from a leading university; Oxford/Cambridge or other G5/Russell Group degrees are

Qualifications

• Specialist tutors with deep expertise in one subject.
• Experience teaching or mentoring students at secondary or university level.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity due to international cohort.
• Willingness to engage with the interdisciplinary ethos of the stream.

Responsibilities

• Deliver university-level lecture and seminars on topics within your subject area.
• Run Oxbridge-style tutorials with individuals or pairs, fostering independent thinking.
• Support students with their individual research projects, from topic development to final presentation.
• Prepare teaching materials and reading lists tailored to the interdisciplinary nature of the stream.
• Collaborate with the academic team to deliver a coherent, stimulating curriculum.
• Provide feedback that is specific, constructive, and encouraging.
• Be available and approachable during the programme to respond to students' academic questions.
