Job summary

Autism Pathways is recruiting a Support Worker for waking nights at our Birkenhead service in Wirral. The role focuses on overnight safety, comfort and wellbeing for individuals with complex needs.

You will work 10pm–8am on a rolling rota (35 hours per week) with weekends. Pay is £14.26 per hour. We offer specialist training, flexible pay, pension, and career development within a supportive team. Experience in autism is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

  • Empathetic and patient, able to provide calm, compassionate support during quiet hours.
  • Resilient and dependable, capable of managing behaviours that may be challenging.
  • Observant and detail-oriented, able to monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately.
  • Team player with strong communication across shifts.
  • Flexible and reliable, able to work night shifts including weekends.
  • Committed to learning and training, including Level 2 Diploma progression.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring individuals overnight to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Supporting with bedtime routines and overnight care needs.
  • Responding to incidents or emergencies with professionalism.
  • Promoting a calm and reassuring atmosphere.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care plans.
  • Ensuring the environment is clean, safe and secure.
  • Collaborating with day staff to ensure continuity of care.
