Job summary
Marie Curie is seeking an Overnight Healthcare Assistant to provide one-to-one end-of-life care in patients' homes across Central Cornwall, working night shifts 10:00pm–7:00am. This permanent, part-time role (18, 27 or 36 hours) offers an indicative salary up to £35,633.52 pro rata plus weekend/public holiday enhancements and a £750 signing bonus after 6 months.
You'll work within ~25 miles of your home, delivering compassionate, dignity-driven care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- At least six months' experience delivering care in a health or social care setting.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach.
- Experience or knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in patients' homes.
- Support comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the night.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
- Follow personalised care plans and work closely with the wider clinical team.
- Provide reassurance and support to patients and those important to them.
