Job summary

Stradey Park Care Homes Ltd in Llanelli is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to stay awake and provide high‑quality care overnight. You will carry out welfare checks, respond to residents’ needs and ensure safe, smooth operation of the home while handing over to the day team each morning.

The role involves personal night-time care, medication administration, and light duties, with a commitment to dignity and respect for all residents.

Qualifications

Reliable and compassionate night shift worker.
Able to follow care plans and medicines policies.
Willingness to maintain residents' dignity and privacy.

Responsibilities

Remain awake and vigilant during the night shift, carrying out welfare checks on residents.
Provide personal care overnight with dignity and respect, including toileting and repositioning.
Administer medications in line with care plans and medicines policy.
Respond promptly to residents' needs or emergencies during the night.
Maintain accurate overnight records and hand over to day staff clearly.
Carry out light duties such as laundry and tidying during quieter periods.
Support fire safety checks and ensure building security overnight.
Provide reassurance and support to residents who wake or become unsettled.
Undertake training and support new staff as needed.
Promote independence, choice and respect for all residents.
