This role is responsible for financial planning, controlling and provision of management support in relation to the overhead costs of one or more business areas of BMW UK and Ireland. As well as planning, controlling and accounting for one or more related topics such as headcount, centrally controlled overhead topics and functional guidance of accounts payable. This role is based at the Summit ONE Campus in Farnborough.

What awaits you?

  • Challenge and support Cost Centre Managers on all aspects of their expenditure to ensure effective cost centre controlling and overall achievement of company targets
  • Implement robust financial planning procedures with Cost Centre Managers to ensure Company and Group targets are adhered to as part of the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensure accuracy of financial reporting at month end/year end by making the necessary accruals and provisions and providing detailed variance analysis to the Overheads Controlling Manager so that corrective action can be taken
  • Evaluate business cases/proposals and use judgement to provide guidance to the relevant business areas and senior management.
  • Preparation of control accounts including analysis and investigation of reconciling items to ensure that accounts are fully reconciled with SAP IFT and in accordance with IFRS.
  • Educate Cost Centre Managers and Requisitioners in financial best practice and ensure adherence to company policies and processes
  • Building strong relationships with key contacts whilst being able to challenge assumptions
  • Occasional UK/Ireland travel may be requested to support wider teams if required

What should you bring along?

  • University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics or similar.
  • Finance / cost controlling experience with good business knowledge.
  • Highly numerate, ability to challenge the business and build relationships with non-financial business managers and to deliver high quality result within time pressured environment
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Aptitude for analysing & presenting information
  • High level of motivation, innovation and team-working
