Job summary

OCU is seeking a Project Manager to deliver overhead line infrastructure projects across LV, 11kV and 33kV networks in the UK. You will own projects from award through to completion, ensuring safety, commercial success, and alignment with client expectations.

Based in Shinfield, the role requires strong delivery experience in electrical distribution, superb stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage complex programmes, outages and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects in electrical distribution/utilities sectors.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
• Experience with CDM regulations.
• Knowledge of NRSWA.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of overhead line and electrical distribution projects from mobilisation to completion.
• Develop and maintain project programmes to meet milestones and dates.
• Coordinate resources, outages, and teams to maximise efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Manage project reporting and contractual requirements.
• Monitor risks and implement solutions to protect delivery targets.
• Ensure documentation and management systems are up to date.
• Drive commercial and operational performance to meet programme and quality targets.

The Opportunity

Join OCU and play a key role in delivering overhead line infrastructure projects that support the UK's growing electricity network. As a Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from initial award through to completion, ensuring delivery is safe, commercially successful, and completed in line with client expectations.

Working across LV, 11kV, and 33kV networks, you'll collaborate with planners, operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to coordinate complex programmes of work and drive successful project outcomes. What You'll Do

• Lead the delivery of overhead line and electrical distribution projects from mobilisation through to completion.
• Develop and maintain project programmes to ensure contractual milestones and customer connection dates are achieved.
• Coordinate resources, operational teams, and outage requirements to maximise efficiency and project performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project reporting, programme updates, and contractual requirements in line with client expectations.
• Monitor project risks, issues, and constraints, implementing solutions to protect delivery targets.
• Ensure project information, documentation, and management systems are accurately maintained and updated.
• Drive commercial and operational performance to achieve programme, quality, and financial objectives.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience delivering projects within the electrical distribution, utilities, or power infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction and network delivery environments.
• Experience managing projects operating under CDM regulations.
• Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
• Bonus if you hold a recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent.
• It would be great if you hold current or previous DNO authorisations.
• It would be great if you have NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
• Experience working within DNO, ICP, or electrical distribution delivery environments would be advantageous.
