Job summary

OCU Group, a leading power infrastructure specialist, seeks an Overhead Lines Project Manager in Shinfield to own projects from mobilisation to completion. You’ll drive programmes across LV, 11kV and 33kV networks, coordinating planners, operations, clients and stakeholders to meet milestones and commercial targets.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering projects in electrical distribution/utilities/ power infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction and network delivery environments.
  • Experience with CDM regulations in project delivery.
  • Knowledge of NRSWA and related approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of overhead line and electrical distribution projects from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes to meet milestones and connection dates.
  • Coordinate resources, teams and outage requirements to maximise efficiency.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage reporting, updates and contractual requirements aligned with client expectations.
  • Monitor risks and issues and implement mitigation to protect delivery targets.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of project information and documentation.

The Opportunity

Join OCU and play a key role in delivering overhead line infrastructure projects that support the UK's growing electricity network. As a Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from initial award through to completion, ensuring delivery is safe, commercially successful, and completed in line with client expectations.

Working across LV, 11kV, and 33kV networks, you'll collaborate with planners, operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to coordinate complex programmes of work and drive successful project outcomes. What You'll Do
  • Lead the delivery of overhead line and electrical distribution projects from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes to ensure contractual milestones and customer connection dates are achieved.
  • Coordinate resources, operational teams, and outage requirements to maximise efficiency and project performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project reporting, programme updates, and contractual requirements in line with client expectations.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, and constraints, implementing solutions to protect delivery targets.
  • Ensure project information, documentation, and management systems are accurately maintained and updated.
  • Drive commercial and operational performance to achieve programme, quality, and financial objectives.
What You'll Bring
  • Experience delivering projects within the electrical distribution, utilities, or power infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction and network delivery environments.
  • Experience managing projects operating under CDM regulations.
  • Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Bonus if you hold a recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent.
  • It would be great if you hold current or previous DNO authorisations.
  • It would be great if you have NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
  • Experience working within DNO, ICP, or electrical distribution delivery environments would be advantageous.
