Due to significant growth across our Transmission & Distribution Ltd UK business, we are currently seeking to build a talent pool of both first appointment and experienced Overhead Lines Project Managers, preferably with extensive experience in managing and delivering 132/275/400kV OHL Projects. These roles focus on overseeing project management and delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness. If you are not seeking an immediate opportunity but wish to share your details, we are interested in hearing from you.
You should have substantial experience working on multi-million-pound projects, delivering safely, on-time, and within budget. Experience with Transmission & Distribution Network Operators' projects is key. You will be expected to participate in site walks for tenders when required and work from home or your nearest Wood office based on business needs. Our upcoming opportunities are site-based, supporting various clients under different OHL frameworks, making the position UK-wide. Flexibility regarding work location and travel is essential.
Please note, if you wish to be considered for other vacancies, a separate application is required.
As a first appointment or established Overhead Lines (OHL) Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of delivering critical electrical infrastructure. Ideally, you will come from a construction or electricity supply background, with experience in tendering and delivering large 132/275/400kV OHL projects, supporting clients across the UK.
Reporting to the Senior OHL Project Manager, your responsibilities include overseeing project management and delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness. You will uphold high standards in project execution, aligning with both T&D and client objectives. A strong history of leading project teams through all project phases—design, construction, commissioning, and closeout—is essential. Skills in programme/project management, planning, and managing design requirements and budgets for OHL projects are preferable. Familiarity with client or DNO standards and policies is also advantageous.
Designing the future. Transforming the world.
As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are paving the way to net zero by 2050, with secured workstreams for years to come. You will play a vital role in a diverse portfolio of projects at various stages of their lifecycle.
