Authorised Overhead Line Worker 132kV/33kV Electricity North West
Join us in powering the North West.

At Electricity North West, we keep the lights on for 2.4 million homes and businesses. We re looking for an experienced LE1 OHL Line Worker to join our team working on the overhead electricity network. This is your opportunity to bring your expertise to an organisation that prioritises safety, customer service, and professional development.

About the Role
As an Authorised Overhead Line Worker, you will:

  • Work on the 132kV/33kV transmission system, including erecting and wiring.
  • Participate in construction, refurbishment, fault location, and repair activities.
  • Undertake inspection and maintenance of overhead plant to ensure ongoing network reliability.
  • Play your part in minimising customer interruptions by participating in a 24-hour standby rota.
  • You will always work to the highest safety standards, fully complying with our codes of practice, and will proactively engage in risk assessments and safety processes as part of your daily activities.


What We re Looking For?

Essential skills and experience:

  • LE1 grade or equivalent
  • City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering
  • Authorisation to receive safety documents and apply additional/drain earths
  • Experience working on 132kV/33kV networks within a DNO environment
  • An understanding of safety systems and risk assessments
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including anti-social hours
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work as part of a team, manage your own workload, and complete paperwork efficiently
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent)


Desirable qualifications and experience:

  • Wood pole experience at 33kV and trident construction 132kV
  • HGV licence
  • Distribution Network Operator LV/HV overhead authorisations
  • Experience operating plant and street works qualifications
  • Demonstrable computer literacy
