Job Description:

Consortium Professional Recruitment is proud to support our client in their search for an experienced Overhead Line Senior Design Engineer. Based near Beverley, easily commutable from Hull, York, and surrounding areas, you will be a key part of a dynamic project team developing end-to-end engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed design for transmission and distribution projects (33kV and above).
This is a leadership role, offering involvement in all phases of designfrom concept to implementation. You will guide design delivery, ensure technical excellence, support junior engineers, and manage project and quality standards while working closely with internal stakeholders and external clients.
This permanent, full-time role is ideal for professionals with a civil, mechanical, or electrical background who are seeking greater project responsibility, leadership opportunity, and exposure to national infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical delivery of OHL projects, including structural and foundation design
• Prepare and review design reports, specifications, and calculations
• Manage design teams and mentor junior engineers
• Ensure compliance with CDM, H&S legislation, and industry standards (e.g. BS EN 50341)
• Liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure programme and design quality
• Support budget planning, scheduling, and resource forecasting

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• Strong experience in OHL design (33kV and above)
• Working knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, or equivalent
• Experience in leading design teams and managing deliverables
• Familiarity with national grid and utility client standards
• Confident communicator with project ownership experience
