Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is recruiting for an Overhead Line Project Manager on a 12-month contract based in Scotland (Livingston/Oban). You will lead delivery of 11kV and 33kV overhead line rebuilds within the electricity distribution network, coordinating with contract managers and site teams to meet programme targets.

The role requires hands-on project management experience, ability to read drawings, plan resources, and manage costs, with office-based planning and some site visits.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience of electricity distribution overhead line works (11kV/33kV).
• Experience managing overhead line projects, or linesman moving into PM.
• Ability to read drawings and plan resources and sequencing.
• Experience coordinating site teams and subcontractors safely.
• Understanding of project costs and subcontractor payments.
• Excellent organisation and communication in a customer-focused environment.
• Proficiency with Excel for planning and progress monitoring.
• Electrical qualification would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage overhead line rebuilds on 11kV and 33kV networks.
• Manage multiple schemes with in-construction and in-planning phases.
• Interpret drawings and develop delivery plans for large rebuilds.
• Ensure labour, subcontractors, materials, vehicles and equipment are ready.
• Coordinate with Contract Managers and site teams to meet programmes.
• Monitor delivery against safety, quality, environmental, financial, and operational targets.
• Survey and quote projects against contract rates.
• Review subcontractor payment applications and monitor costs.
• Maintain project plans with Excel; track progress and updates.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety requirements.
• Attend sites as required; support teams with site supervision.
