About the Role
Join a well-established structural steel fabrication business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality steelwork for commercial and industrial projects across the UK. As an Overhead Crane Labourer, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day movement and preparation of steel components within a busy workshop environment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with overhead crane experience and a strong work ethic.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Operate overhead cranes (pendant-controlled) to move fabricated and raw steel sections safely across the workshop and yard
* Assist with loading and unloading steel from vehicles and storage areas
* Support fabrication teams by ensuring materials are positioned and handled efficiently
* Carry out basic labouring duties including tidying, sweeping, and waste removal to maintain a clean and safe work environment
* Be available for overtime during peak workloads and to support weekend production where required
Requirements
* Experience operating overhead cranes in a steel or heavy engineering environment
* Confidence in handling large steel components safely and effectively
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual work in a production setting
* A proactive approach and willingness to support various tasks as part of a team
* Flexibility to work overtime including early starts, late finishes, and occasional Saturday mornings
