TXM Recruit is recruiting 2 permanent Overhaul Engineers based in Derby.

Location: Derby

Shifts: Monday - Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 / Friday 08:00 – 14:30

Salary: £38,000 - £39,000

We are looking for individuals from a rail or rolling stock background, but individuals from the following industries are also considered: Rolling Stock, RAIL, Royal Navy, RAF, REME, British Army, General Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, who have experience in mechanical engineering and overhaul.

Primary Purpose of the Role: To carry out overhauls and repairs on various rail projects while ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Maintain high levels of productivity, attendance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment.
• Strip and rewire electrical components and conduct electrical testing.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Use in-house reporting to ensure work is quoted and completed on time.
• Keep workspace clean and organized at all times.

Essential:

• Experience in a similar role or industry.

• Electrical knowledge, fault finding, and electrical component exchange.

Desirable:

• Full clean driving license.
• Experience with Rail HVAC chiller units and compressors.
• Ability to use crimping tools.
• FGAS qualification or willingness to obtain it.
• Forklift truck license.
• Overhead crane license.
• Brazing experience or willingness to attend training.
