Job Description:

Our ambitious Havering school is seeking a dedicated and skilled Music Teacher to join our successful and growing department. We are keen to hear from teachers who are not only excellent practitioners but also have the drive and potential to take on a TLR and contribute to the ongoing development of music provision and extracurricular music.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3-4 (and potentially KS5).
  • Inspire students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for a wide range of musical genres and styles.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and enhance the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress in Music.
  • TLR opportunities may include leading a key stage, directing musical ensembles, managing instrumental tuition, or developing links with external musical organizations.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Music or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Music at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply).
  • Strong musical skills, including performance experience and theoretical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead musical activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities within the Music department and school music (for TLR consideration).
