Job Description:

On behalf of our client, a global aerospace supplier, we are actively recruiting an Outside Sales Account Manager to join their growing team in Southampton. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth by developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional service across a portfolio of key accounts.

You will be a confident, results-driven professional with a passion for sales and a strong track record of managing accounts and closing deals. This position will require regular travel, face-to-face client visits and offers the opportunity to work with a number of globally recognised brands.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  2. Proactively engage with customers through regular site visits, calls, and online meetings.
  3. Develop and execute sales campaigns aligned with market trends and customer needs.
  4. Cross-sell and up-sell value-added services such as processing, fabrication, and polishing.
  5. Analyse customer requirements and provide tailored metal and material solutions.
  6. Negotiate terms and pricing effectively to close deals and achieve sales targets.
  7. Maintain up-to-date customer and sales data within the CRM system.
  8. Provide timely reports on sales activity, market trends, and account performance.
  9. Support global exhibitions and events in collaboration with the Business Development and European leadership teams.
  10. Collaborate with internal teams including Inside Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless customer experience.

Key Skills & Experience

  1. Minimum of 5 years experience in an external sales or account management role, preferably within the aerospace or closely related sector.
  2. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.
  3. Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Highly motivated, target-driven, and resilient with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM systems.
  7. Full UK driving licence is essential.
  8. Relationship Management – Able to build and maintain trust-based professional relationships.
  9. Negotiation & Influencing – Skilled in reaching win-win agreements and closing sales.
