The Role

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting vulnerable children and young people within the community. You will work with children who may be facing challenges such as family difficulties, mental health concerns, school-related issues, or social isolation. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support, guidance, and advocacy for these children, helping them access vital services and thrive in their personal development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for children and young people during outreach activities.
- Work with children in the community, schools, and other settings to help them access education, healthcare, and other essential services.
- Offer emotional support, guidance, and positive role-modelling.
- Develop and implement personalised support plans tailored to each child's individual needs.
- Collaborate with families, social workers, teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
- Advocate on behalf of children to ensure they receive appropriate care and protection.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to monitor progress and outcomes.

Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children and young people in a support, care, or outreach setting (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young people.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with children facing diverse challenges.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and local resources for children in Cornwall.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
