Job description

Description

Please note that this vacancy is not part of Surrey County Council; we are advertising this on behalf of a partnership organisation.

The starting salary for this role is £16.20 per hour based on a 32-hour working week.

About the Organisation

Surrey Care Trust is a local charity that helps people improve their skills for life, work, and learning through counselling, education, mentoring, and volunteering. Our programmes support disadvantaged families in improving their chances in life. Through our programmes, we enable people throughout Surrey to overcome disadvantages such as low skills, poor educational achievement, limited opportunities, and tough financial circumstances.

The multi-agency approach of Family Centres is central to Surrey County Council's Effective Family Resilience and Early Help Strategy. Family Centres play a key role in providing Early Help, improving outcomes for children and young people aged 0-19 (up to 25 with additional needs), and reducing inequalities between the most disadvantaged children and others. They offer high-quality Early Help and targeted services, including health, family support, and employment-related services, all designed with the needs of children as a priority.

Each Family Centre aims to be the first point of contact for families needing support with daily parenting challenges.

About the Role

The main responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with staff to ensure families feel supported and receive appropriate help to promote their children's health, social, emotional, and developmental needs, ensuring children have the best start in life.
  • Providing targeted Early Help support and specialist services to families in Spelthorne Borough, in line with Surrey's 'Effective Family Resilience' Framework.
  • Working closely with professionals to deliver coordinated assistance to children, young people, and families at risk of social exclusion or not meeting developmental milestones.
  • Offering outreach and family support to referred families, assessing needs, and reviewing the impact of support and interventions.

The closing date for applications is 16.05.2024, with interviews planned shortly after.
