Job summary

1st Staff are seeking a Tutor to work with children with a range of SEN in Newcastle and nearby areas. Sessions are delivered on a 1:1 basis to students unable to attend mainstream education. The role requires a caring, friendly approach to build rapport with learners.

Experience as a Teacher, Teaching Assistant or Mentor is beneficial. Locations include students' homes, local libraries or community centres. Roles are part-time or full-time, with most referrals at 10-15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience working with a range of SEN.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions to children with SEN in Newcastle and surroundings.
• Plan and deliver fun, engaging English and Maths lessons.
• Build rapport with learners and support their progress.

The Role

• Location - Child's home, Local library or Community Centre

• Hours - Part-time or Full-time - Most referrals are between 10-15h/week. Tutors looking for a full-time role would usually work with multiple students.
