Job summary

Remedy Tutors in Southend is seeking an Outreach Tutor to work one-to-one with a student, delivering a personalised learning programme that considers academic ability and barriers to engagement.

You will teach Maths and English across primary to GCSE, plan lessons around individual needs, adapt activities to support concentration and confidence, and monitor progress through regular feedback. This ongoing placement offers flexible hours and potential for meaningful impact on a student’s education.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach both Maths and English.
• Experience with SEN/SEND or SEMH desirable.
• Understanding of how additional needs can affect learning.
• Patient, calm and adaptable teaching style.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Help Students Overcome Barriers to Learning

Remedy Tutors is looking for dedicated tutors to support students with special educational needs, social, emotional and mental health needs, and difficulties accessing education.

You will work one-to-one with a student, delivering a personalised learning programme that considers their academic ability as well as any barriers affecting their engagement. This may include anxiety, low confidence, concentration difficulties, communication needs or challenges with emotional regulation.

The aim is to help each student feel supported, re-engage with learning and make meaningful academic progress.
