Job description

Full time permanent role

37.5 hours Monday – Friday (hybrid role – 3 days in office)

Based Kingston upon Thames area

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Outreach Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery services, this will involve leading and managing a team of outreach workers and to support the teams to manage caseload of clients and to work in partnership with service providers to manage and deliver the service in line with contract requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead recruitment, select and induct new team members
  • Set performance targets and clear objectives for staff, monitor and support team to ensure targets are met.
  • To be responsible for staff supervision and appraisals, case conferences, case reviews, contract monitoring, and relevant training.
  • Hold regular internal meetings for staff and attend external meetings.
  • Ensure all team members are working in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • To organise and manage shift patterns for team for optimum service delivery and to support the team to contact priority cases.
  • To build relationships, to accurately record verification data and assess needs of verified clients (rough sleepers) and monitor records.
  • To support the teams to maintain a caseload of clients, offering ongoing support till a solution is provided for accommodation or reconnection services.
  • Ensure regular case reviews are carried out in agreed timescales and support plans are submitted and implemented and case notes are recorded meticulously
  • To assist with sourcing accommodation and to assess referrals with the staff team.
  • To foster positive relationships with other service providers, businesses, and community groups in the borough and proactively promote awareness of the Services and work collaboratively with enforcement agencies
  • Manage and deliver the service in line with contract requirements and sub-contracting
  • arrangements and actively participate in promoting the service through client case studies and examples of best practices.
  • To monitor and report on budgets
  • Cover for members of the team when necessary.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced Outreach Manager who will:

  1. Possesses the skills and experience to take the lead in developing community and street outreach services
  • Experience working within the homeless and / or housing sector is essential
  • Must have experience in line management, including recruiting, inducting, supervising, and performance management.
  • Experience in administering and delivering a case management approach.
  • Excellent IT skills – databases, CRM systems and MS Office systems,
  • Have a creative, solution-focused approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data management.
  • Knowledge of current drug and alcohol provision and relevant services, pathways, and conditions
  • Possess emotional resilience to deal with challenging behaviour and to facilitate ongoing constructive engagement.
  • Ability to work as part of a management team, maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, the community, and other external agencies.
  • Knowledge of the services and legislative environment regarding housing, health, work, and immigration as it relates to homeless people.
  • Experience in motivating complex and diverse client groups to engage with support.
  • An understanding of and commitment to confidentiality and professional boundaries.
