A highly-respected specialist school, based within the area of Wembley and borough of Brent, is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their staff on a full-time basis.
The Role
The role requires confidence in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and the ability to set and maintain boundaries. The school has both Primary and Secondary sites. You will support pupils across the school on a 1-to-1 and small group basis. You will work closely with the teaching and wider staff team to support students within classes, school activities, and specialist and intervention sessions. Some pupils come from vulnerable backgrounds and have social, emotional, and mental health needs.
You will be expected to support pupils academically in subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
The School
The school is a short-term provision for students who have not managed to stay in mainstream education due to health needs. Many pupils have complex medical conditions, mental health issues, emotional disorders, and are extremely vulnerable.
The school supports up to 20 KS3-4 pupils and offers a home tuition service for KS1-4 pupils unable to attend school.
They operate across two main sites—one for Primary and Secondary education, and an additional site for vocational training.
