As part of our continued growth, we’re delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Outreach Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and close-knit team at Bankside School, part of Options Autism.

This is a rewarding and varied role ideal for someone with a passion for supporting children and young people with autism and complex needs. You will play a vital part in delivering high-quality education support outside of the traditional classroom, helping pupils access learning in a way that works for them.

About the Role

As our new Outreach Teaching Assistant, you will help deliver tailored education support in line with company policies and the standards set by relevant regulatory bodies. Working closely with teaching staff and tutors, you will ensure that students receive the individualised support they need to succeed—wherever that learning may take place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers/tutors in delivering high-quality education to pupils in an outreach setting
  • Provide tailored, appropriate assistance to students on an individual or group basis
  • Promote pupils’ physical, educational, and moral development in line with school policy
  • Assist in organising outreach resources, equipment, and learning environments
  • Help develop, implement, and review student documentation such as Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Support Profiles (BSPs), and Risk Assessments
  • Ensure efficient use and maintenance of equipment and materials
  • Contribute to a stimulating, structured, and supportive learning experience for pupils with autism spectrum conditions

Who are we looking for

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, compassionate, and flexible, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for young people with additional needs. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience working in an educational or SEN setting
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence in recording and reporting information accurately
  • A Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for outreach work)

Bankside School is an exciting new venture near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Our new specialist school caters for students aged 11-18 years old with Autism, Complex needs and learning disabilities.
