Qualifications

  • Evidence of OCN/NVQ Level 3 or willing to achieve within 12 months.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport.

Job description

We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall's most excluded and disadvantaged people. We have various positions available in our Drug and Alcohol Outreach, Hospital Outreach and Housing teams. Successful candidates will also work alongside in-house services which include community, clinical, criminal justice and a residential rehabilitation facility.

Main duties of the job

This role will be working alongside other services providing outreach support to clients around Cornwall with drug and alcohol issues who are struggling to maintain their housing. You will work alongside the Adult Community Service and the Young People's Service to ensure that an accessible treatment offer is available to those who find themselves rough sleeping or in insecure accommodation.

    Qualifications
    • Evidence of continuous professional development - OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this within 12 months.
    • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport (the role will involve travelling to a variety of centres across Cornwall)
    • Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
    Experience
    • Demonstrable experience working in the fields of outreach, housing/homelessness health, social care, criminal justice, domestic abuse, or another specialist setting
    • Successful track record of working with substance misuse clients
    • Resilient and the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
    • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for service users
    • Knowledge and understanding of homelessness, assessment, care planning and key working
    • Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders Ability to work effectively as a team player.
    • Ability to work flexible and unsocial hours as required
