Job summary

Community Action East Sussex is seeking a Positive Activities Support Worker in Newhaven with Eastbourne delivery. The role supports Ukrainian guest children and young people, funding activities and enhancing health and wellbeing across rural areas. It is hybrid in delivery with 22.5 hours per week and a pro rata salary scale.

Applicants should have safeguarding experience, strong boundaries and a current enhanced DBS check; a driving licence and car are essential for rural travel.

Qualifications

• Experience of Safeguarding, assessing need and monitoring engagement of children and young people.
• Sensitivity to the needs of Ukrainian guest children and young people.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Driver and own car are essential for travel to rural delivery locations.

Responsibilities

• Identify, source and potentially fund activities for Ukrainian children and young people.
• Provide health and emotional wellbeing support to aid integration and reduce social isolation.
• Create groups and fund opportunities when multiple children request similar activities.
• Deliver outreach across rural East Sussex Wealden areas.
