Outpatients Registered Nurse – FlexiBank

Contract: FlexiBank.

Hours of work: Shifts allocated as and when required

Salary: £23.50 per hour.

Our centre has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic outpatients team on a FlexiBank arrangement. The ideal candidate is somebody who can connect with our culture and values and takes pride in delivering a first class service to our patients and consultants. They will have superb organisational skills and will relish a challenge within a fast paced environment with like minded people.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a FlexiBank role working on an ‘as and when required’ basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during periods of annual leave or absence.

Reporting to the Outpatients Manager, the successful Registered Nurse will be required to provide the highest standard of individualised patient care as part of the clinical team, including:

  • Ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during their visit/admission to the hospital.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance in line with hospital policies, national guidelines and best practice standards.
  • Assisting consultants during clinics and minor op procedures.
  • Attending to patients for post op dressings, IV infusions, injections and more.
  • Taking a pro-active approach to the development of clinical skills within the clinic ensuring that practice reflects local standards and policies and are in keeping with relevant professional standards.
  • Demonstrating clinical excellence within the outpatient specialities e.g. Gynaecology, Dermatology, ENT, Urology, Aesthetic procedures, PRP.
  • Demonstrating competencies in extended roles such as ECG taking, cannulation and venepuncture.
  • Being aware of resource implications and aim for cost effective care delivery.
  • To be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of safeguarding principles and practices, ensuring the protection of vulnerable individuals.

Required qualifications, skills & knowledge

  • NMC registration
  • Minimum 2 years post registration experience
  • Experience from the private sector a benefit
  • Experience within one or more of the following areas: Theatre, cosmetic surgery, gynaecology.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of customer care
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and commitment to patient safety
