An opportunity has arisen for an efficient receptionist clerk who is passionate about delivering excellent customer care.

This role will include Outpatient Reception cover across PRUH, Orpington and Beckenham Beacon Hospitals so the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills. Duties will include the reception of patients into clinics, making clinic appointments, answering the phones and dealing with members of the public. You will have experience of working in a team and must be prepared to be flexible, working within the demands of a very busy department which provides a patient-focused service. A willingness to learn new skills and support service developments are essential.
Most of the work is computer based so a good knowledge of general use of computers would be required for applicants.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Receptionist to cover across Kings South Sites incorporating - The Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington Hospital, Beckenham Beacon and Queen Marys Hospital, Sidcup.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide a comprehensive receptionist, administrative and supportive service to the multidisciplinary team and to patients of the unit and to accurately maintain patient records and statistical information, utilising computer facilities available.

This will be done by the line manager in consultation with the post holder.
The post holder will maintain patient confidentiality at all times, will recognise and adhere to the Trusts Standing Orders and standing Financial Instructions, will be responsible for
Accurate computer data entry and data quality and will carry out their duties with regard to accepted standards of professional practice.

The post holder, like all other employees must take reasonable care at all times, and be

Child/Adult Protection
The post holder will be familiar with and comply with the London Child Protection Procedures and the associate guidance and protocols of Kings College Hospital. The post holder has the responsibility to ensure that the welfare of all children and vulnerable adults is paramount and prioritised at all times and must be prepared to share information with the statutory agencies. This duty will be prioritised at all times
Safeguarding Children
Safeguarding children is everyones responsibility. Whatever your role within the trust the welfare of children should be your paramount consideration. In cases of suspected abuse or neglect the duty of care that member of Kings College Hospital NHS Trust staff owes to a child, will take precedence over any obligation to the parent or other adult. All members of Kings College Hospital staff who have contact with service users, or their families, should be familiar with guidance on child protection/ safeguarding children from; their own professional organisations, the trust and the London child protection procedures Staff will be required to attend mandatory safeguarding children training.

The trust objective is to put patients at the front of everything we do to ensure that all patients experience care that is safe, maintains their dignity, treats them with respect and leads to agreed outcomes. Whatever your role within the Trust it is your responsibility to maintain patient safety and choice. You will be required to attend mandatory training in safeguarding adults, deprivation of liberty (DOLS) and mental capacity act (MCA). You should be familiar with SLHT safeguarding adults policy, your professional bodys guidance on safeguarding adults and Pan London procedures re safeguarding adults. It is your responsibility to keep updated as you are accountable for your actions.
Data Protection Act
The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patient, staff and Health Service business in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998).
All employees without prior permission must not disclose any information regarding patients or staff. In circumstances where it is known that a member of staff has communicated to an unauthorized person, those staff will be liable to dismissal. Moreover, the Data Protection Act (1998) also renders an individual liable for prosecution in the event of unauthorized disclosure of information.
