Job description

Due to the increasing number of treatments and care services offered, our active outpatient department at Emersons Green Hospital in Bristol is seeking Healthcare Assistants to join our friendly, professional, and supportive team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Supporting doctors, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Carrying out routine patient monitoring and care duties tailored to individual needs.
  • Investigating patient pathways and updating records accurately to ensure proper documentation and follow-through.
  • Preparing patients for treatments or surgeries and conducting necessary checks prior to procedures.
  • Performing phlebotomy, ECGs, and occasionally running clinics, with full training provided.
  • Monitoring health, safety, and hygiene standards within the department, identifying hazards, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Skills and Qualities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal teams, patients, and their families.
  • Friendly, polite, and caring nature, with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Computer literacy and willingness to undertake training in local systems.
