Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and motivated senior nurse to join our Ophthalmology outpatient Department at Freshney Place.

About the Department

The Department provides outpatient services for all medical and surgical specialties, including some family services. The role will provide senior nursing management to Diana Princess of Wales Outpatients.

Candidate Requirements
  • Senior nurse with previous management experience, particularly in leading change.
  • Ability to drive forward the skills of the established outpatient team.
  • Excellent communication skills, initiative, drive, and leadership qualities.
  • Adherence to the Trust's values of kindness, courage, and respect, promoting a positive attitude.
  • Outstanding critical thinking and workload prioritization skills.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Workforce management and effective rostering.
  2. Conducting audits, staff performance, and wellbeing management.
  3. Training and development of staff.
  4. Stock ordering and incident investigation.
  5. Accountability for improving standards of care in line with quality assurance tools.
  6. Attending regular management meetings.
