Overview

As a member of the Outpatient pharmacy team, you would contribute to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services: dispensing and issuing prescriptions, giving advice where appropriate, working alongside pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal guidelines and departmental procedures to meet the needs of our customers. Happy to Talk Flexible Working - all requests for flexible and part time working will be considered.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant with excellent organisational skills to join our team in Outpatient Pharmacy. This post would suit somebody with a hospital pharmacy background, or with community pharmacy experience wishing to make a change into the hospital environment. Further training and development will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Dispense and issue prescriptions, provide advice where appropriate, and work with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure duties are carried out in line with legal guidelines and departmental procedures.
  • Gain experience with hospital-only medicines and work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
  • You must have either successfully achieved the relevant units of pharmacy services skills NVQ level 2 (QCF) or the relevant units of an equivalent GPhC accredited training programme.
  • You should have experience as a qualified Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant, good communication skills, and experience of using computer systems for dispensing, stock control, and word processing.
  • Further training and development will be provided.
  • Experience in working within a hospital pharmacy environment or a community pharmacy background wishing to move into hospital settings is desirable.
  • You will gain experience with hospital-only medicines and close working with multi-disciplinary teams.
Work Location and Hours

The Outpatient pharmacies are based on the Basingstoke and Winchester sites of Hampshire Hospitals; this position will be based on the Basingstoke site, with cross-site working may be required. Our opening times are Monday - Friday 8:30am–5pm and weekend working is not required.
