Outfit Detail Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Outfit Detail Design Engineer looking for a new challenge? Would you like to join a growing company with an expanding projects portfolio? Considering a new opportunity in the Glasgow area?

Belcan's Marine Engineering Division is currently going through a period of significant growth and is looking to recruit a number of Outfit Detail Design Engineers, on a Permanent or Contract (Inside IR35) basis.

This role will involve working on naval marine design projects for defence marine vessels, but experience of similar design for commercial vessels would also be of great interest. You will undertake a defined range of detail design activities in designing the layouts of cabins and areas within the vessels.

Day-to-day tasks will involve the production of 3D models and 2D outputs to support operations and other functions within our Marine sector, while maintaining Belcan's quality, management, and service requirements.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in an Engineering Service environment and will be able to balance the technical responsibilities inherent within the role with the commercial and project timescale associated with delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Marine engineering and a defence-related industry or in a complex engineering domain such as Automotive, Aerospace, Transportation, or Energy, supported by previous software experience (such as CAD, ideally Foran).
