Job Description:

Belcan’s Marine Engineering Division is currently going through a period of significant growth and is now looking to recruit several Outfit Detail Design Engineers, on a Permanent or Contract (Inside IR35) basis, at an Engineer – Senior Engineer Level.

This role will involve working on naval marine design projects for defence marine vessels, but experience of similar design experience for commercial vessels would be of great interest as well. This will involve undertaking a defined range of detail design activities in designing the layouts of cabins and areas within the vessels.

Day-to-day tasks will involve the production of 3D models and 2D outputs to support operations and other functions within our Marine sector, whilst maintaining Belcan’s quality, management, and service requirements.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in an Engineering Service environment and will be able to balance the technical responsibilities inherent within the role, with the commercial and project timescale associated with delivery. The technical skills required for an experienced engineer will include: compartment design, integration of equipment, ship’s access and escape environment, insulation, paint, and deck coverings.

Software Experience: FORAN supported by involvement within naval marine design projects specifically for outfitting and layouts is essential.
