Job summary

Carrington Blake Recruitment is recruiting a Street Cleansing Operative to carry out cleansing and environmental maintenance across Thurrock. The role is 37 hours per week under PAYE, paying £15.16 per hour.

You will drive and operate NLGV vehicles, carry out litter picking and waste removal, and help keep public spaces clean, safe and well maintained. You will work independently and as part of a team, follow health and safety procedures, and use handheld/digital systems to record work.

Qualifications

• Category B driving licence.
• Experience driving non-LGV vehicles.
• Experience using mechanical sweepers or similar equipment.
• Experience working to cleansing standards and schedules.
• Able to undertake physical outdoor work in all weather.
• Basic digital skills.
• Good communication and ability to work independently.
• Flexible approach to working hours and duties.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate NLGV vehicles and mechanical sweepers.
• Carry out litter picking, sweeping and fly-tipping removal.
• Empty litter and dog waste bins.
• Use equipment such as blowers and strimmers.
• Complete vehicle and equipment checks.
• Record work using handheld/in-cab digital systems.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Follow health & safety procedures.
