Job summary

Ellen Tinkham School and College in Devon is seeking a confident Rural Skills Instructor (grade E) to join our Rural Skills team. This role is primarily term-time (35hours per week) with some maintenance time during the school holidays

The successful applicant will plan and lead small groups or 1:1 sessions in our rural skills areas at both our school and college sites, supporting students aged 4-19 with complex SEND. A DBS check and fluent English are required.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in rural activities and woodcraft.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness to assist in site tasks and maintenance when not teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead small groups or 1:1 sessions in rural skills for pupils aged 4-19 with complex SEND.
• Deliver diverse activities (woodcraft, forest skills, outdoor cookery, pottery, horticulture, animal care).
• Contribute to site maintenance and safety tasks as required.
