Job summary

Senploy in Exeter is seeking an enthusiastic Outdoor Education Teaching Assistant to support pupils through hands-on, practical, and nature-based learning experiences. This role embraces learning beyond the classroom and thrives in outdoor environments where every day is different.

You will work with children and young people, providing 1:1 and small group support, help deliver engaging sessions, encourage teamwork and emotional regulation, and assist with preparing resources.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, outdoor settings).
• Confident, calm, and adaptable.
• Genuine passion for outdoor learning and active education.
• Resilient and able to manage behaviour positively.
• Works well independently and as part of a team.
• Physically active and comfortable working outdoors year‑round.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS (or is willing to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during outdoor and experiential learning activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, particularly for learners with additional needs.
• Help deliver engaging, practical sessions that build confidence and resilience.
• Encourage teamwork, independence, and emotional regulation.
• Support positive behaviour strategies in active environments.
• Assist with preparing resources and ensuring outdoor activities are safe and inclusive.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
