Supporting Outdoor Learning Activities: You will assist in delivering a practical, experiential curriculum, helping students develop key life skills such as problem-solving, independence, and teamwork. You’ll be actively involved in facilitating activities like gardening, outdoor cooking, building projects, and nature walks, all while ensuring safety and inclusion for each student.
  2. Forest School Sessions: Support students in participating in Forest School activities, where they will learn about the environment, explore natural resources, and develop skills such as risk assessment and resilience.
  3. Horticulture & Gardening: Assist students in gardening and horticultural projects as part of the curriculum, encouraging them to take ownership of the spaces.
  4. Off-Site Learning Experiences: Organise and support off-site visits to local parks, nature reserves, and other natural environments that enrich students' outdoor learning experiences.
  5. One-on-One and Small Group Support: Provide individual support to students during outdoor lessons, helping them engage with the curriculum and overcome challenges.
  6. Promoting Positive Behaviour: Play a key role in fostering positive behaviour and social skills development in students during outdoor activities.
  7. Encouraging Emotional Wellbeing: Work closely with students to help them build resilience, self-esteem, and emotional regulation skills.
Skills and Experience That Will Help You Succeed:
  • Passion for the Outdoors: A strong personal interest in nature and outdoor learning.
  • Experience Supporting SEND Students: Beneficial experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Patience and Flexibility: A flexible and patient approach to working with SEND students.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving & Initiative: Ability to think on your feet and solve problems.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Physical Stamina and Resilience: Good physical stamina for various outdoor activities.
  • Organisational Skills: Help organise activities, trips, and outdoor lessons.
  • DBS Check: A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one) is required.
Why This School is Special:
  • Outstanding Outdoor Facilities: Exceptional outdoor spaces, including a Forest School.
  • Experiential Learning Focus: Curriculum centred around practical, hands-on learning.
  • Dynamic, Active Role: A physically engaging position guiding students through outdoor activities.
  • Inclusive Environment: Dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners.
  • Supportive Team: Join a passionate team of educators and outdoor learning professionals.
