A summer educational organization seeks an Outdoor Leadership Teacher in Cambridge to guide international students aged 13-18 through a unique outdoor course. Job description

As the Outdoor Leadership Teacher you will develop and lead this unique 3-week course, which aims to help our students develop and build on essential life skills like communication, decision-making, teamwork and confidence.

Our campuses at Cambridge and Yale offer the perfect backdrop for this course, with a wealth of facilities available in both locations. During the course you will lead your students through a range of varied and exciting outdoor activities, from sailing to group games and team building exercises, helping them to reach their personal goals and have fun.

You will have your own class of international students aged 13-18 years old. Our classes are kept small in order to provide individual attention, personalised encouraging, supportive and fun environment for students to learn while making new friends from around the world.

Although we provide every teacher a guide as to what each lesson should achieve, we ask our teachers to bring their own experience and personality to each class and create their own stimulating and challenging lesson plans.

We are looking for an experienced Outdoor Educator/facilitator who is an expert in leading team-building activities for young people and is confident in their skills and knowledge to develop an exciting and challenging three-week programme.

All of our summer positions are fully residential and all of our staff teams will be actively involved in the various events and activities that we put on for our students.

When and where we need you:
Cambridge

4 Jul 2026 — 30 Jul 2026

Teaching a class of international students, 3 hours per day, 4 afternoons per week for the duration of the 3-week programme

Creating and delivering lessons tailored to improving students’ confidence and leadership skills in an outdoor setting

Taking part in evening activities (compulsory rota basis)

Making sure students are safe and happy at all times

Being a positive role model

Previous teaching experience is essential

Previous experience teaching leadership skills in some capacity

Experience in teaching international students preferred

You must be fluent in English.

Team player who is willing to be involved in the wider summer school programme

Before the start of the session, we run a three‑day orientation (dates are inclusive of this). Staff members receive reimbursement after the session. Travel reimbursements and any finders’ fees are paid separately.

We provide accommodation in all locations for all staff. Meals are provided in the halls of residence once students arrive, however, staff are responsible for their meals during Orientation.

£2,200 GBP for the session.

Up to £150 reimbursed for travel to/from Cambridge.

All of our staff must pass a full criminal background check*

We provide full bed and board for you at our campuses, plus fixed payment.

All staff are required to be on duty (on a rota basis) for evening programmes, activities, day trips and arrival/departure days.

Successful applicants will be expected to hold a current PVG/DBS or equivalent enhanced background check/be willing to obtain one. The cost of this will be covered by the company. Employment will be subject to the company receiving two references from previous employees covering your suitability for the specific position and working with those under 18 years old.
