Job summary

Natural Resources Wales is seeking a motivated outdoor operative to maintain flood risk and land management assets across South West Wales. The role involves hands-on vegetation management, equipment operation, and travel between sites in NRW vehicles.

You will join an experienced team, receive comprehensive training, and work a 9-day Fortnight with two varying weeks of hours, including out-of-hours standby duty for floods and severe weather events.

Qualifications

• Experience in forestry, construction, agricultural, environmental, or plant operations desirable.
• Able to undertake physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Full UK driving licence is essential; trailer towing (B+E) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide manual labour for maintenance of NRW assets including flood risk and land management.
• Operate hand-held tools and equipment as required (chainsaws, mowers, etc).
• Act as banksman/slingle-signaller as needed on site.
• Understand technical plans and work under CDM Regulations.
• Record inspections and maintenance using digital systems.
• Participate in incident response activities and emergency standby rota.
