Overview

Outdoor Education Teacher to join our team at a nurturing alternative provision in Leicestershire. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for either a qualified teacher or an experienced instructor who is committed to using the power of the outdoors to inspire and support young people.

The Role

As our Outdoor Education Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging, practical, and hands-on sessions in an outdoor environment. You will be responsible for providing a curriculum that not only teaches practical skills but also builds confidence, teamwork, and resilience in students who have struggled in a traditional classroom setting.

  • Lesson Delivery: Planning and leading a variety of outdoor education activities (e.g., bushcraft, navigation, team-building exercises).
  • Skills Development: Teaching practical skills while fostering students\' social, emotional, and personal growth.
  • Well-being: Using the therapeutic benefits of nature to improve students\' mental health and self-esteem.
  • Risk Management: Ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in line with risk assessments.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not essential. We will consider candidates with a relevant background.
