Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking an Outdoor Education Instructor to join the Outdoor Education department at Shuttleworth College, Old Warden. You will deliver practical and classroom-based outdoor education, develop learners’ skills, and ensure high standards of safety and assessment.

The role offers a salary between £27,717 and £32,515 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks, with 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a pension.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths are required along with recognised First Aid and a UK driving licence.
• At least two nationally recognised outdoor instructor qualifications.
• Experience delivering outdoor learning with safety and learner engagement.
• Ability to meet awarding body and curriculum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based outdoor education.
• Prepare learning materials and assess learners.
• Oversee equipment and resources management.
• Lead health and safety and risk assessments.
• Support marketing, recruitment and safeguarding practices.
