Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Refuse Collection Loader to join our frontline operations at Eastcroft Depot in Nottingham. This permanent role works 37 hours per week, with a starting salary of £25,583 rising to £26,403 per annum, pro rata for part-time, with pay awards pending.

You'll help keep streets, parks and public spaces clean, support winter operations, and contribute to a respectful, community‑focused service.

Qualifications

• Able to walk up to 15 miles a day in all weather
• Willing to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Commitment to health and safety best practice
• No driving licence required, but a can-do attitude is essential
• Strong customer care and equality of service approach

Responsibilities

• Carry out waste and recycling collection, and general environmental maintenance.
• Support winter operations, including snow clearance and gritting.
• Work flexibly across frontline neighbourhood services depending on service needs.
• Represent Nottingham City Council with pride, professionalism, and respect for residents and environment.
