Job summary

Borrowby Nursery School is seeking a caring and dedicated Childcare Apprentice to join our team. You will study toward your Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship while gaining hands-on experience with children aged 2–11 in a rural setting.

You will work with experienced practitioners, deliver play-based and structured activities, and learn EYFS planning, safeguarding, and everyday nursery routines. Some transport links are preferred due to the rural location.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working outdoors.
• Ideally some experience of working with children.
• Ideally a driver with access to a vehicle due to rural location or familiar with the Nursery location and transportation links.
• Commitment to learning and developing skills in the early years sector.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high-quality care, learning and development for children aged 2–11.
• Build positive, secure and respectful relationships with children.
• Assist with play-based and adult-led learning activities.
• Observe children and contribute to recording and assessing their development.
• Help plan and deliver activities in line with EYFS.
• Maintain a safe, stimulating, inclusive environment.
• Support children’s personal, social and emotional development and independence.
• Assist with personal care routines (mealtimes, toileting, etc.).
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns.
