Salary: £24,984 - £26,223 per year pro rata

We are looking for an Outdoor Assistant join our Museums & Collections team. Your base will be Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Coatbridge but you will work with all the museums in North Lanarkshire Council.

Your role will involve a wide variety of activities that all aim to ensure the museums are well presented, safe and attractive for visitors.

To be successful in the post, you should enjoy working with people, have good interpersonal and communication skills, be self-motivated and have a flexible approach to work practices. You will use a tractor, forklift and van and other tools to help you work. You will demonstrate an ability to lift and carry items and undertake tasks such as setting up for events in all weathers. You will also have a willingness to complete all necessary training and be available for out of hours key holding.

Your previous work experience of basic maintenance, key holding, driving, gardening, painting, basic repairs and janitorial activities will add to your success in this post.

Post holder will work on a rota basis, which may change to meet service requirements, and will include weekend working

A full clean UK driving licence is essential.

As a requirement of these posts, the successful candidates must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) membership through Disclosure Scotland.

Work pattern will follow a 5 over 7-day, 3 weekly shift pattern, during the hours of 8am to 5.30pm. This will be discussed further at interview.
